Halloween will be here before we know it!! 

Every year, I look for fun treats for my kids to pass out to their friends or to have at Halloween gatherings as take-away-treats. One of my favorite designs this year is this simple lollipop wrapper. 

Simply print, trim, then wrap around lollipops (the larger Tootsie Pops are best) and secure with tape, glue or glue dots. The tags are reversible with a cute space to write who the treat is TO: and FROM:.

One of my favorite Halloween play on words phrases for treats is "Bugs & Kisses". My now 3 year old gave this treat to his classmates last year and it was a huge hit, with the little boys and girls. 

So, we had a little fun this year and came up with 2 different tag concepts and color combinations for "Bugs & Kisses".

To make your treats, simply choose your favorite clear container or bag, fill with Hershey's kisses and your choice of bugs (our favorite is the plastic spider ring), then add your personalized tag and you are all set!

One of our favorite treat containers is the 2" clear, square box. They hold just the right amount of candy for a small treat, are easy to assemble and beautifully display treats through their clear exterior. You can also use clear treat bags, available at craft stores such as Michael's or online. Or, to add a bit of color to your packaging, choose treat bags with black or orange stripes to fill with kisses and your child's favorite bugs.

Halloween is almost here! 

I find that the simplest of ideas are often the most appreciated at Halloween parties, whether in school classrooms, church picnics or in your home!

These ghost inspired straw toppers take just minutes to make and are a great way to dress up straws for your beverage service.

Dress up simple black and white paper straws with grosgrain ribbon inspired ghosts. Simply tie a knot using 1 1/2 inch white grosgrain ribbon, trim the edges and then add eyes with a black sharpie. If you have a few extra moments, you could glue googley eyes on for an added surprise for adults or kiddos!

Halloween is such a fun holiday! And, what better way to celebrate than with friends, family and kiddos!
Mummy juice boxes are a fun and easy way to add some Halloween humor to the picnic table. Simply wrap juice or milk boxes with white duct tape and add some googley eyes. Mini oranges or tangerines when peeled and a piece of celery added resemble pumpkins. The candy corn cheese platter includes goat cheese, cheddar cubes and Swiss cheese. And for fun, non-candy party favors for the kiddos, use self-adhering craft sticks and foam bats; instant toy for kids to wave around the playground. Hopefully some of these easy Halloween ideas will inspire you next year!

As my son's preschool room mom, I was tasked with setting the menu and decorations plan for their annual Halloween luncheon and craft. So, I definitely took it upon myself to search for and come up with some fun ideas.

Two of my favorites this year were well received and super easy to create.

1st- Mummy juice/milk boxes

This couldn't be any easier (although somewhat time consuming).

Supplied Needed:
-White Duck Tape
-Variety of googley eyes
-Juice and milk boxes
-Glue

Step 1- Cut 5-6, 5-8 inch strips of white duck tape. Start at any point and begin to wrap around the juice box or milk box. Alternate starting and stopping points, be sure to angle a few pieces and consider cutting one or more of the strips in half length wise to add dimension and interest to your design.

Step 2- Using glue, add your googley eyes. Use your creativity here. Alternate where you place the eyes; horizontal and centered or at an angle.

Step 3- Re-glue the juice/milk box's straw to the side of the carton.

Spooky Fruit

The 2nd project that I tackled this year was to offer healthy lunch options that were not only fun for me to create, but fun for the classroom full of 2 year olds to eat.

Supplies Needed:
-Mini oranges or tangerines
-Celery bunch
-Bananas
-Lemon juice
-Chocolate chips (mini and regular)

Peel the oranges or tangerines. Cut your celery into 1-1 1/2 inch pieces. Simply place your celery pieces into the peeled oranges and there you have it- mini pumpkins.

For the bananas, peel them ahead of time and dip them into lemon juice to prevent browning.
Put two mini chocolate chips into the bananas to resemble eyes, pointy side down. And then to finish your plate, place a larger chocolate chip to resemble the ghost's mouth.

These two fun Halloween party ideas showcase that not all party ideas have to be complicated or time-intensive. Within a few minutes, you can create Halloween details that not only your kiddos will enjoy, but you as well.
