Sometimes it is the simplest of ideas that are the cutest!

Surprise your kiddos on Easter Sunday this year with milk adorned with bunny ears.

To achieve this same look, attach a 2" round "Happy Easter" tag to the front of glass or plastic milk bottles then attach our bunny ear template (stay tuned for Friday's freebie to download) to the rear of the bottle using double sided tape.

Happy Easter!

Make it Monday- St Patrick's Day Green Carnation Centerpiece

3/17/2014

Happy St Patrick's Day!!

Bring a little green into your home this Sat Patrick's Day with an easy to make carnation centerpiece.

You will need:
-White carnations
-A vase
-Green food coloring
-Shears or kitchen scissors
-Optional: shamrock cut out of card stock and a food stick to construct a topper

To make your own arrangement, trim the edges of the white carnations with kitchen shears or scissors to allow for better water absorption. Arrange the carnations in the vase (for best results use rocks or filler). Add green food coloring drops to the water (10-20 for best results). Center your shamrock topper in the center of the arrangement. Wait 4-6 hours for the carnations to begin to change color.

Today's Make-it-Monday project is a quick and easy St Patrick's Day treat.

Choose any container (these gumball tubes are one of my personal favorites), fill starting with a rolo candy, then rainbow gumballs or skittles in the order of the rainbow colors (purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red); attach a St Patrick's Day "Taste the Rainbow" tag. These tags are offered in a personalized version in our etsy store, or you can download the FREE tags from last week's Friday Freebie post.

Simple and sweet!

Make-it-Monday: Decorate with Shamrocks for St Patrick's Day

3/3/2014

This year, our two year old son is just old enough to take interest in holiday celebrations, which makes planning and decorating so much more fun!

In preparation for St Patrick's Day, I found some inexpensive shamrock shapes at our local Dollar Store. So, I decided to experiment a bit with some simple decor concepts.

Dressed Up Paper Straws

Paper straws are everywhere it seems! And luckily, due to their popularity, they can now be found in virtually any color combination not only in local party stores and online, but in the dollar section at craft stores, big box retailers like Target and at the Dollar Store! So, what once was deemed a 'splurge' item at $3.99+ for 8-12 straws, can now be obtained for $1.

To dress up simple paper cups, add shamrocks (die cut or foam stickers) to black and white paper straws.

This look is simple, affordable, and fun for both adults and children.

Foam Shamrock Toys/Favors

These were a huge hit with our preschooler! He loves just about anything he can wave around!!

Foam shapes can be found at most craft stores, or big-box retailers like Target.

Simply glue wooden craft sticks to the back of the foam shapes and you have an entertaining toy or St Patrick's Day favor!

(Tip: check to see if your craft store has self-adhesive wooden sticks and skip the gluing all together)

Simple DIY Shamrock Art

One of my favorite things to do is to re-purpose items I already have around my home.

Virtually everyone has a black, 5x7 frame of some sort.

For this project, choose one sheet black and white patterned scrapbook paper, cut to your frame's size using scissors or a paper cutter, attach a foam or card stock shamrock shape (you can find these in your local craft store or Dollar Store), and re-fit the image back into your frame.

This simple project could be repeated for virtually any holiday!
