Tania's Rockin to the 80's 30th Birthday Bash

5/25/2015

Tania’s request for her big 30th bash was to pay homage to the 80’s through rock and roll icons, dress-up gear and overall party design. This was by far one of my favorite events to put together. Enjoy the fun pictures!

Some details to look for include:
-3 tier 80’s theme birthday cake
-Graffiti birthday cake
-Microphone cake ball pops
-Sushi bar
-Flower arrangements displayed in LED lit cassette tape containers
-Fun 80’s dress up gear

Main Dessert Table
We wanted to keep things simple, modern and full of color for the main food table. The linens and floral containers were white, while the flowers were bright neon colors, clustered throughout the center of the table. The main focal point of this table design was the dessert selection. A 3 tier fondant 80’s theme birthday cake was the centerpiece, a smaller graffiti designed cake was nestled in front, a large display of microphone cake ball pops sat behind, mini bundt cakes were displayed on tiered vintage record stands and custom designed sugar cookies for the birthday girl were neatly arranged on white platters.

Party Décor
One of my favorite finds for this event was the LED lit cassette tape floral container. These arrangements neatly sat atop the line of cocktail tables along the back patio.

Giving Back....The Spaulding for Children Luncheon

Whenever we are asked to support local non-profit organizations, we jump at the opportunity! Giving of our time and talents in service of others is a great honor!

I had the pleasure of helping the co-chairs of this Spaulding for Children luncheon in the Fall of 2014.

Here is a little blurb about the Spaulding for Children:

Spaulding for Children is a unique agency that is dedicated to building and sustaining strong, nurturing adoptive families for children in need.

These are children with physical, mental or emotional disabilities, older children, minority children and sibling groups. We do this by placing the children with permanent, adoptive families and providing on-going support after placement.

We charge no fees to our families for adoptions.

I worked closely with Kristin in preparation of a surprise 50th wedding anniversary dinner for her parents. When she reached out to us about this luncheon, we simply couldn't say no.

Crowning Details was able to provide a few key touches to their already amazing event. Instead of template table numbers, we created colorful designs that coordinated with their event invitation and florals.

And, for a touch of fun, guests were encouraged to take home colorful heart cookies provided by Whoo's Bakery with Spaulding for Children favor tags provided by Crowning Details. We cannot thank Stacey Fuller with Whoo's Bakery enough for graciously donating 200 beautifully crafted cookies for this event!

We hope you enjoy the photos!

Down here in Houston, it is HOT, HOT, HOT already! I am fairly confident that we are in for a warm summer!

These FREE Patriotic fan downloads are great for fanning yourself when enjoying a Memorial Day or 4th of July BBQ outdoors! Plus, they are super fun for kids; my preschoolers love running around with them!

For the best results, download the FREE Patriotic fan printable file, print on bright white card stock, trim and adhere wide Popsicle sticks (Michael's sells sticks with sticker adhesive which makes this a 5 minute craft activity).

Enjoy!

Thomas' Vintage Fireman 2nd Birthday Party

5/13/2015

Thomas loves fire trucks….not so much fire, but definitely the trucks! So, we worked with his mommy to come up with this modern take on vintage fire truck designs in celebration of his 2nd birthday!

Some details to look for include:
-Fire boot centerpieces full of bright spring flowers
-Fire hydrant sippy cups
-Fun food labels: fire truck wheels, fire hoses and fire balls
-Stuffed Dalmatian party favors

Main Dessert Table
Created by Jackie hand painted this amazing backdrop, pulling the ladder and hat design from our printable collection. The centerpiece of this table was the fun fondant birthday cake featuring a firetruck and cute molded Dalmatian. Cupcakes were served in these bright red fire hydrant stands. And for fun, we also served “fireballs” aka cheese puffs, “Fire truck wheels” aka Oreo cookies and “Fire hoses” aka red licorice.

Party Activities
The fire truck bounce house was a huge hit with the party guests. To keep the tiny tots entertained, the drive way was full of riding and push toys, an inflatable baby pool full of balls and a commercial bubble machine.

Party Favors
Each guest took home a sweet stuffed Dalmatian with a tag reading, “Thanks for a Blazing Good Time”.

Begay & Associates Client Welcome Dinner

5/9/2015

If you are in the professional services industry, you know how important it is to attract and retain targeted clients to your business. Relationships are critical to both of those tasks. One proven method for attracting and retaining clients is event marketing.

How do you design a corporate event that will attract and retain clients? After all, a dinner or cocktail hour are a dime a dozen among the professional services industries. How can you create an event that stands apart; that is memorable?

Begay & Associates, an Ameriprise Private Wealth Advisory Practice based in Houston, asked us to help design and coordinate a dinner & reception to welcome their newest clients to the group. Their theme/concept is "Building a Strong Financial Future Together", focusing on the importance of client relationships and the growth that ensues over time witin the client- advisor relationship.

When working to develop their design concept, the first images or icons that comes to mind when you think of the word "grow" are trees, flowers, foliage. A tree symbolizes strength, growing from the roots upward. So, we designed our invitation and other printable concepts with this in mind.
Picture
Once we settled on an invitation/design concept, we began working on the details that would provide a 'wow' or memorable experience for guests attending the dinner. A few things are critical to consider when planning a corporate event with the intention of attracting new clients, or retaining current clients; location, menu, overall experience and attention to detail.

Chosen location: Brennan's Restaurant downtown.

This Southern restaurant is a stable in our city, known for great food, great ambiance and equally important, it is close to downtown which makes its location convenient for many of this firm's clients.

Menu: Offer 2-3 main course options that would appeal to a variety of guests; men, women and vegetarians.
Overall Experience: Our "wow" points included the sky-high flower arrangements, the "living tree" concept at the entrance with hanging place cards, the harpist playing background music and the individual take-home bags of Brennan's famous pralines.

I am a firm believer that the little details are what guests remember most!
