EEK! Children and tea cups oh my!

Kid Fun Houston invited Crowning Details to style their recent Alice in Wonderland themed 'high tea' event at the St Regis in Houston. YAY!

We worked to marry some of the whimsy from Alice in Wonderland with the formal nature of the hotel's ballroom.

In the lobby, guests were greeted by a fun wooden directional sign from Created by Jackie and two Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum photo booth signs (my kids couldn't stop peaking through the photo holes). Colorful envelopes contained each guests's name and table number.

Once in the ballroom, the tables were decorated using a variety of whimsical crystal trees, flower filled tea pots and tea cups and bird cages. At each guests's seat awaited a fun Alice in Wonderland themed sugar cookie provided by The Sugar Jar. 

Surrounding the room were a variety of fun vendors offering services such as manicures, face painting and balloon art to keep the tiniest guests entertained. And of course, we cannot forget Alice herself who made her grand appearance and greeted all guests with a warm smile and true to Alice pose.

This event was truly magical and super fun for me to attend with 2 of my own children!

When the founder of Houston Moms Blog reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in participating in their 2nd annual birthday bash, I jumped at the opportunity! I have wanted to do a carnival/circus design forever...

The event itself was organized almost like a vendor fair, with a number of businesses and local vendors exhibiting not only their wares and services, but offering treats, games and activities for the guests to participate in.

My task...creating a bright, cheerful display that captures the attention of arriving guests, while complementing the theme and color palette for the event.

In partnership with Balloonscape and Created by Jackie, this is what we came up with!!

Our table backdrop by Created by Jackie featured a circus tent in keeping with the carnival theme and the event logo. We anchored the table display with 2 enormous clown balloon displays from Balloonscape. And to add some small details to the table, we draped a custom "Happy Birthday" banner in front of the table and added a bucket of clown noses for kiddos looking "to clown around" during the event (My kids loved the clown noses!).

This adorable "girly" Star Wars party was a DIY plan in partnership with one of our favorite clients. We provided design inspiration and vendor contacts, and they brought the vision to life!

I am absolutely in-love with these Death Star flower vases!!! These were inspired by a Pinterest find and my amazing vendor Created by Jackie hand painted them and brought them to life! The flowers were provided by Fiori by Lisa Wright and we added fun cartoon Star Wars character paper toppers.

All of the yummy food items were labeled using cute Star Wars names; Leia Lemonade, Hans Burgers, Jabba the Hut Mac and Cheese and more! 

And since this was a pool party, what better party favor than light saber designed pool noodles!
