My Little Pony Party Decorations
For the dessert table, we kept things simple opting for a draped white linen and a rustic burlap runner. The focal point of the dessert table wasn’t a backdrop since we were outside, but was instead a cardboard AppleJack standee. Standees are a great way to add height and visual interest to any space and require minimal set-up. Plus, they are wonderful for outside events when secured against a wall or table.
Seated guest tables were draped in a colorful red and white gingham tablecloth which paired perfectly with the coloring found in the standee. Centerpieces were simple glass vases filled with loosely arranged sunflowers and Baby’s Breath. To add dimension to each place setting, I layered square wooden chargers, square white paper plates, yellow bandannas and personalized hay bale party favors, with text reading, ”Friendship is Magic”.
Barnyard Desserts & Snacks
For simple, barnyard inspired desserts, I recommend simple buttercream cakes with theme toppers or even a rustic naked cake. I am a HUGE fan of Painted Parade and so added one of her custom creations as our cake topper. In addition to a birthday cake, I like to offer 2-3 other sweet treat options for guests to enjoy. For this barnyard party theme, we offered stacked rice crispy treats aka “hay bales” and pies. Whenever possible, choose desserts and items that pair well with your overall party theme.
To appeal to the healthier eaters, and to give homage to Applejack herself, we also offered these custom imprinted red apples. I LOVE how the heart icon is edible, adding such a special touch to these healthy treats.
Red gingham bottle labels wrapped other items, including our cream soda and root beer bottles.
My Little Pony Party Activities
One of the best surprises for guests at our My Little Pony party were the ponies available for petting, including a unicorn! In addition to a petting zoo or live unicorn at your event, here are some other activity options to entertain party guests:
1. Pin the Tail on the Pony
2. My Little Pony tattoo station
3. Friendship makeup station
4. Horse shoes
5. Corn hole toss
Party Favor Ideas
I LOVE practical and theme based party favors. For our My Little Pony theme, we set out these adorable hay bale boxes filled with goodies along with cowboy hats that were hanging on the back of each chair. When choosing party favors, put yourself in the child’s and child’s parents shoes and look for something that will be enjoyed well beyond the party itself.
We hope you loved our Applejack version of My Little Pony and that you found inspiration for your upcoming event!
