One of my favorite things is to design a different take for a character birthday party theme. For My Little Pony, we decided to focus on the character Apple Jack, working with subtle colors and a more western vibe over the colorful rainbow motif typically found in the show. We hope you find inspiration in our My Little Pony ideas for your upcoming birthday party!
My Little Pony Party Decorations
Our main dessert and snack table was draped in a gorgeous white ruffled table linen, and then layered with a fun burlap table runner. Applejack herself, in the form of a cardboard standee, acted as table décor and a great photo opportunity. Seated tables were draped in a contrasting red and white gingham tablecloth, and then we added color through simple, organic centerpieces. For a budget friendly Western centerpiece, simply fill ball glass jars with sunflowers, baby’s breath and other fresh seasonal flowers. For dimension, each guest’s place setting contained a square wooden charger, square white paper plate, yellow bandana as an alternative napkin and personalized hay bale party favors, with text reading, ”Friendship is Magic”.
My Little Pony Desserts & Snacks
Our guests enjoyed vanilla buttercream cake that we dressed up with gingham ribbon around the base and this custom made horse cake topper. In keeping with our Applejack theme, we also offered mini apple pies displayed atop mini hay bales and “Hay Stacks”, aka rice krispy treats. Desserts were served on simple kraft paper plates with wooden forks. To appeal to the healthier eaters, and to give homage to Applejack, we also offered these custom imprinted red apples. I LOVE how the heart icon is edible, adding such a special touch to these healthy treats. For fun beverage options, we served cream soda a root beer, dressed up with custom red gingham bottle labels.
My Little Pony Activities
One of the best surprises for guests at our My Little Pony party were the ponies available for petting, including a unicorn! In addition to a petting zoo or live unicorn at your event, here are some other activity options to entertain party guests:
1. Pin the Tail on the Pony 2. My Little Pony tattoo station 3. Friendship makeup station 4. Horse shoes 5. Corn hole toss
My Little Pony Party Favors
Party guests enjoyed personalized hay bale party favors along with cowboy hats that doubled on the backs of each guest’s chairs as party favors. I love choosing party favors that will be enjoyed beyond the party itself, and dress up items lend themselves to ongoing play.
We hope you loved our Applejack version of My Little Pony and that you found inspiration for your upcoming event!
