If you have small children, then you have likely experienced Trunk or Treat during the Halloween season! And if you haven’t made it to one of these special Halloween events, make this your year! These events are amazing local gatherings of families, where vehicles are decorated and lined up for children to safely trick or treat among. DIY Trunk or Treat Monster
Supplies Needed:
- 4-6 sheets of purple poster board
- 4-6 sheets of white poster board
- 2 sheets of black poster board
- 1 paper tablecloth
- Scissors
- Pen or pencil
- Large & small round options to trace
- Non-harmful, easy to remove adhesive strips for attaching items to the vehicle
- Several bags of Mars XScream Spooky Mix of Chocolate bars and candies
Monster Part Preparation
Step 1: Using a large circular item (we used a large serving platter), trace 5-7 eyes onto white poster board. Using scissors, cut each of the circular shapes out and set aside. While you have the white poster board out, cut out varying sizes of pointy monster teeth. I would cut a few tall ones, a few medium sized, and a few small for visual interest. Set them aside.
Step 2: Using a small circular item (we used a dinner plate), trace an equal number of circles onto black poster board. Using scissors, cut each of the circular shapes out and side aside.
Step 3: Attach each of the black circles to the bottom 1/3 of the white circles using glue. Set your monster eye balls aside to dry.
Step 4: Use scissors to cut a zig zag pattern along the length of each piece of purple poster board. These purple pieces will become your monster’s fur!
Attaching Monster Parts to your Vehicle
Step 5: Starting with one side of your vehicle once the trunk has been opened, begin attaching the pre-cut pieces of fur. Trim as needed to fit the size of your vehicle.
Step 6: Next, attach the pre-assembled monster eyes to the top of your car’s trunk once it has been opened.
Stp 7: Working from your vehicle’s interior, attach the black tablecloth across the entire trunk.
Step 8: Finally, set up your trunk or treat table in front of your vehicle’s trunk and fill your red bowls up with Mars XScream Spooky Mix bars and candies from Walmart. Now, you are ready to enjoy the evening passing goodies out to all of the kids and families that pass by throughout the event. Your monster trunk or treat design will be a hit with both kids and adults!
Pick up your Mars Xscream Spooky Mix of Chocolate bars and candies with a mix of Mars candies like MILKY WAY® bars, SNICKERS® bars, M&M’S® candies and more to pass out at your trunk or treat event, plus everything you need to celebrate Halloween, at your local Walmart.
