Grab your girlfriends and celebrate Galentine’s Day in style! I love the idea of celebrating friendships for Valentine’s Day, especially over bubbly while participating in a fun activity like DIY succulents. We hope our party inspired you to throw your own Galentine’s Day get together this year!
Galentine’s Day Decorations
Considering the home’s black and white décor, we opted for pops of red and soft pink for our Galentine’s Day decorations. In the dining room, we displayed snacks, cookies and beverages atop the dining room table draped in a light pink, floor-length linen. To fill the room and add lots of color, we set out 10-12 bunches of red heart balloons red heart balloons on weights. This entire project was under $35, making it an affordable way to make big impact.
The DIY succulent bar was displayed on the enormous kitchen island. To contrast the black countertop, we added two red glitter runners, large heart standees and then our fun signage, “Love? Suck it! The Succulent Bar” to the counter area.
Galentine’s Day Bites
For this type of event, light bites are the way to go! We served guests three stunning appetizers and bite sized cookie desserts. The cookies were a hit with their funny sayings, perfect for the Galentine’s party mood. Champagne was served in acrylic glasses adorned with XOXO white vinyl. The disposable nature of these glasses make for easy clean up, making them a favorite of mine for any event.
The Succulent Bar
Our friends at The Succulent Bar in Houston created the most inviting spread for our party guests to create their own take home goodies. The process was simple; select your succulent, choose your own decorated container, fill with dirt, and then top it off. There were so many beautiful filler options, it was hard to choose which one(s) to add. I chose an adorable bow tie container, a simple succulent and then topped off with red colored glass rocks.
Galentine’s Day Photo Fun
Pop the bubbly and get silly with this giant XO photo backdrop and fun props! So often, I forget to snap pics at my own events. Photo backdrops offer the perfect excuse for guests to get in on the photo action, capturing fun memories to share after the party wraps up. To create your own inviting photo booth space, you simply need a backdrop and a handful of theme appropriate props.
Happy Galentine’s Day!!
