Rustic Farmhouse Wedding Cake Topper
Farmhouse style can incorporate a variety of raw materials; wood, metal, basic greenery, or even stone. For our simple one tier wedding cake, we chose to go with chocolate buttercream, which is a slightly modern approach to the design theme. For the wedding cake topper itself, we embellished a small 3.5” wooden round with textured metallic vinyl.
In Cricut Design Space, you can customize with your initial, then set to cut using your Cricut Joy on the LightGrip Mat. Using Transfer Tape, place the design centered on your chosen wooden topper piece. For the finishing touch, I added some simple greenery around the base of the wedding cake.
Modern Wedding Cake Topper
I was inspired by the colors in these amazing florals, and decided to let them be center stage for this one tier wedding cake. For the cake stand, I chose a stark black modern pedestal. And, for the topper, I embellished a square piece of acrylic with permanent white vinyl.
To create your own modern wedding cake topper, head over to Cricut Design Space, then customize the template with your initial. Cut your design using Smart Vinyl in white, then apply to your chosen piece of acrylic for the perfect modern cake topper!
Traditional Wedding Cake Topper
A simple traditional cake topper option is a simple phrase such as “I Do” or “Love” in gold metallic. Or, a classic wedding cake topper phrase, “Mr & Mrs”. Style your one tier wedding cake on a cake pedestal, and embellish with flowers or a stunning linen.
To create your own gold cake topper, head to Cricut Design Space and then using your Cricut Joy, simply cut your phrase from glitter cardstock. Add clear food safe sticks to the back of the cut card stock, and add to the top of your wedding cake.
Each of these simple wedding cake topper designs can be completed in mere minutes. I love how pairing a DIY topper, with a simple cake design, stand and embellishments can create a stunning wedding cake.
