Spray Chalk Ideas for Valentine’s Day
DIY Heart Sidewalk
Our first project was to create a colorful heart pathway leading from our driveway to our front door. Hearts were spray painted one by one, in four alternating colors, approximately 8-12 inches apart along the entire pathway. While we free-handed our hearts, you could use a store bought or handmade heart stencil for a more precise end result. I love that this pathway added a simple, colorful greeting to the front of our home for guests. Should rain wash it away, we can simply recreate it again and again in a matter of minutes over the next month leading up to Valentine’s Day. A side benefit of this fun pathway was that my preschool aged children found it fun to hop from heart to heart along the pathway.
Our second DIY project using washable spray chalk was to create a heart hopscotch game on our driveway. We use four spray chalk colors to recreate a simple hopscotch course for outdoor play in less than 5 minutes. While we kept our game’s design simple, you could use numbered stencils to create more detail, adding 1-10 into the center of each heart’s outline. My children were thrilled to hop over and over again during the course of a week while the chalk designs remained brightly on our driveway.
We completed both of our DIY projects with a single 4-count box of Testors Spray Chalk, making these fun designs both simple to recreate, and affordable. Testors Spray Chalk is available at Target, Home Depot, Menards, Walmart and Michael’s.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
