We are sharing our favorite ideas for creating a spooky charcuterie tray for your Halloween parties!!
Who says kids get to have all of the fun on Halloween!?! Gather your friends under the moonlight this year for an intimate Halloween gathering. We are sharing out tips for a simple, spooky charcuterie tray that pairs perfectly with one of our favorite red varietals, 7 Moons Wine.
Choosing which foods and beverages to offer when hosting an event is as important as selecting the decor.
7 Moons Wine was made for the moonlight, and was the perfect complement to our dark and mysterious charcuterie display. 7 Moons Wines blend 7 different grape varietals sourced from prime vineyards along California’s Central Coast and Lodi regions. The blend is a mix of Syrah, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Grenache.
How to Create a Halloween Charcuterie Tray
My favorite thing to pair with wine service is an amazing charcuterie tray. I find that party guests often like to graze while visiting with friends, so this style of food service is ideal for most occasions. For a Halloween party, I love the idea of creating an upscale, spooky charcuterie tray that embraces the spirit of the holiday! Our charcuterie tray resembles 7 Moons Wines–simple and elegant, with little embellishment.
Some dark and mysterious foods to consider incorporating into your Halloween charcuterie tray include:
- Black Olives
- Blackberries
- Black Mission Figs (Whole and/or Sliced)
- Black Grapes
- Port Wine Cheese
- Black Marbled Cheese
- Black Sesame Crusted Goat Cheese Balls
- Peppercorn Encrusted Dried Salami
- Cheese, Caviar or Spreads displayed in tin containers or with black labels
- Black Crackers
- Dark Chocolate Bark or Dark Chocolate Pieces
Choose your favorite 5-7 items and neatly display on a silver tone platter, using small bowls for items such as blackberries or olives to contain juices. For spreadable cheeses, add a small knife for easy service. For a nod to the holiday and for a little spooky fun, we added a handful of black spiders around and within our display.
Party Pro Tip: Set aside rinsed, prepared items to refill your charcuterie platter throughout the event. With items easily accessible, you can spend more time mingling with guests.
Set up your wine and charcuterie service on a stand-alone surface for the best flow during a larger cocktail type event. Or, for a smaller, more intimate dinner party setting, use your Halloween charcuterie tray as a centerpiece and serve it alongside 7 Moons wine on your tablescape.
When preparing to host your own Halloween party, head over to the 7 Moons Wines website to locate the nearest retailer with this true hidden gem in stock. Happy Halloween!

October 9, 2018 at 3:10 amWow, this is so interesting and genius idea. I like how all black is used and the ingredient to prepare aren’t hard to find. Black olive and black grapes are those food we eat almost daily and can be found in supermarket easily. Love this brilliant idea. What I need is just to find a cute skeleton like the one in the picture to make it as a highlight of this dish.
