In this post, we are sharing some colorful ideas for creating a winter Nutcracker birthday party!
When working on this design concept, we wanted to create something with nods to some of the primary elements to the performance, while keeping it something easily to replicate at home. SO, we began with our exclusive Nutcracker party supply collection and used those elements as jumping off points for the overall party’s decor.
How to DIY a Party Backdrop
If you are looking to create a simple, affordable backdrop for your dessert table, consider colored papers or textures that can be added to a thin piece of plywood. Simple DIY techniques are our go-to for affordable party decor ideas that don’t sacrifice on style.
Our backdrop was created using white floral petal sheeting that was attached to the wall using a staple gun. The centerpiece to the display was a 4 foot tall alpine Christmas tree lit in white lights. To either side of our holiday tree, we displayed hand painted; hand cut wooden characters from our Nutcracker collection. Clara and the iconic nutcracker, with a few color twists, were proudly displayed as showpieces on our dessert table.
Nutcracker Birthday Party Decorations
To bring softness and a nod to ballet, we added this floor length pink table skirt around our table anchored in a crisp white table linen. For sparkle and a nod to winter, we sprinkled gold glittered snowflakes across the tabletop.
Our buttercream birthday cake was dressed up with colorful sprinkles around the base and this laser cut acrylic “Happy Birthday” cake topper designed from original hand lettering. Vanilla buttercream cupcakes topped with confetti sprinkles were elevated by placing them into gold confetti paper cups and by adding gold glitter ballerina toppers. We also offered party guests an assortment of mini treats displayed in a gold three tiered server. Chocolate truffles and mini cupcakes were elevated by displaying them in handmade white lace wrappers; it’s the smallest detail that can make the largest impact in a party’s design.
Nutcracker Party Supplies
Desserts were served on our exclusive collection of Nutcracker paper plates, featuring a trio of the Christmas tree, Clara and the Nutcracker and then the Nutcracker himself. Our new tabletop collection features two dessert plate designs, a dinner plate and paper cups, all in our modern Nutcracker design with a refreshed color palette.
Holiday Party Favors
One of my favorite party favor ideas during the holidays is an ornament. They are available in virtually any color palette, shape, and size and are a practical gift that guests can enjoy well beyond the celebration. Party guests took home vibrant magenta and teal holiday ornaments with personalized favor tags.
We hope you found inspiration in our Nutcracker birthday party ideas for your next holiday gathering or celebration!
