Throw an epic Mickey Mouse birthday party with our fun party decor ideas outlined below.
Mickey Mouse, one of the most recognized global icons, was unveiled by Walt Disney on November 18th, 1928. Since then, he has delighted fans around the world. To celebrate, we put together a Mickey Mouse birthday celebration to honor this iconic character. We hope you find design inspiration for your own celebrations below.
Mickey Mouse Party Decorations
What better way to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday than with a party!? We loved putting this celebration together, full of simple, colorful party ideas that you can replicate at home.
Our dessert table was draped in a solid red linen, then dimension was added with a black and white runner and this fun “Happy Birthday” banner across the front. To adhere a banner to a linen, use straight pins at either end. If you are working with a plastic tablecloth, use strong adhesive tape or glue dots. Our backdrop was custom made using plywood, with a simple Mickey silhouette. You can achieve a similar look at home using a large piece of mat board sourced at your local craft store. Trace your image on the back and cut using an exacto knife.
Our desserts were displayed using a variety of white serving pieces, then our cake was highlighted using a simple black cake pedestal. For a uniform look on your dessert or snack table, choose serving pieces in a single color with a variety of shapes, sizes and heights.
The seated children’s table was draped in a base black linen, then a Mickey Mouse party tablecloth. We added fun custom centerpieces, then each guest’s seat was decorated with a Mickey Mouse dinner plate and a fun Good to Grow Juice.
Mickey Mouse Desserts
The flagship dessert offered to guests was this personalized Mickey Mouse cake from our local Walmart bakery. I loved how easy it was to choose a design and that the cake was not only affordable but delicious. For alternative desserts, we displayed cupcakes decorated with Mickey Mouse plastic rings. We served our cake and cupcakes on Mickey Mouse dessert plates with Mickey Mouse paper napkins.
DIY Waffle Bar- Mickey Mouse Party
When hosting a children’s birthday party, I offer guests snack options in addition to the primary dessert. For this Mickey Mouse celebration, we set up a colorful waffle bar. Kellogg’s Eggo Mickey Homestyle, 16 ct waffles were toasted then set out on a simple white platter along with a variety of toppings.
Sample waffle bar toppings could include:
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
- Fruit Compotes or Preserves
- Whipped Cream
- Chopped Nuts
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Maple Syrup
For a non-sweet snack option that’s easy for party guests to enjoy, consider Crunch Pak Foodles Disney Apples, Cheese & Grapes, 5 oz. These adorable snack packs are full of cheese, pretzels and fruit. They are not only perfect for birthday party celebrations, but make amazing on-the-go snacks for your kids. For a fun beverage option, we chilled an assortment of Mickey Good 2 Grow juice bottles.
Passing out slices of cake or cupcakes can be messy! I know that when I slice a birthday cake, I end up with icing everywhere!! For easy clean up, keep several packages of Huggies Simply Clean Baby Wipes on hand.
One of the best parts for any child’s birthday party is opening gifts!! I know my kids can’t wait to see what fun new items they received after a celebration. The perfect gift for any Mickey lover is this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Boppin’ Bikin’ Mickey Mouse Plush. It not only plays music, but rides along the floor! For your Mickey party gifts, be sure to use this fun Mickey Mouse Gift Bag.
We hope our colorful Mickey Mouse party ideas inspire your next celebration! To shop any of these Mickey Mouse products, see below! Or, visit your local Walmart!
