Can you believe that fruit serves as a jumping off point for some of the most popular children’s party themes!?! While fruit based party themes can work year-round, they are the most popular when the fruit is in season. Peach season begins in May, but is at its peak during the months of July and August. The jumping off point for most of my parties is generally a table linen, whether tablecloth, napkins or table runner. For this peach birthday party, I fell in love with this gold colored linen from The Folding Tablecloth. Its coloring is muted, making it the perfect backdrop for our soft colors and subtle designs. Plus, I am always a fan of easy to use, no wrinkle linens!
Peach Birthday Party Decorations
Whenever we work on a new party theme, we always start with an invitation concept before moving into the printables and overall party design. A party invitation, whether sent via mail or electronically, sets the stage for the party’s design. We pulled imagery from our peach invitation design and utilized it in our backdrop poster, printable peach banner and peach favor tags.
I am always looking for a place to incorporate macrame, and it worked wonders for this peach party, adding dimension, texture and softness as a table runner.
Peach Dessert Ideas
The centerpiece of our peach party’s dessert table was this extra tall, simple peach ombre cake sitting atop a gold ruffled pedestal. I am a sucker for well done, simple birthday cakes, particularly when the rest of the decor speaks loudly. To top the peach birthday cake, we chose a simple “Happy Birthday” laser cut topper. Guests also had the option to snack on perfectly iced peach sugar cookies, and peach jam filled cupcakes. To me, I think offering guests 2-3 dessert choices is ideal.
Peach Tabletop Options
Seated tables were draped in the same gold floor-length linen by The Folding Tablecloth as the dessert table. Choosing to use the same linen offered continuity to our overall design. We added a stunning coral and peach floral centerpiece to the seated tables, giving just the right amount of softness to the tablescape. To create layering, we used peach plastic plate chargers and floral adorned paper dinner plates. I was super lucky to stumble upon peach plasticware, which coordinated perfectly with our peach party design. When choosing tabletop items, search for coordinating textures, patterns and colors versus the same motif on each item for the most visual interest.
Peach Party Favors
For party favors, I like to keep things simple. Guests took home small bags of peach flavored candy with personalized printable favor tags reading, “You’re a Peach.”
