Get ready for Game Day!! With football season in full swing, it’s time to elevate your home-gating game. Whether you are gearing up to watch a game with family, or have invited friends over to join you, our homegating ideas will enhance your game watching experience.
When setting up our main “Concessions” table, we wanted to keep things simple, streamlined and football focused. So, we opted for a simple white linen as our base, and added this fun chalk strategy play inspired runner. Our centerpieces were both elegant and playful, mixing feminine, all-white florals with iconic DIY yellow football goal posts.

We created the DIY goalposts using plumbing pieces, yellow spray paint, potting mix, and glass containers. Building the goal posts was somewhat like putting a puzzle together, opting for pipes that fit together to form a symmetrical goal post at our local hardware store. Once we had assembled each piece, we used basic yellow spray paint to cover all sides. Once dried, we placed each goal post into the center of the container, using potting mix as a binder. We added fresh white hydrangeas around each base to soften the look.
When selecting menu items for an event, I search for an assortment that will appeal to the spectrum of guests attending; age groups, gender, and potential dietary preferences or restrictions. Our snack spread featured Tyson® crispy chicken strips, Tyson® Any’tizers® hot wings buffalo style, Tyson® Any’tizers boneless chicken WYNGZ*, salad, and a fresh vegetable spread with yogurt dip.
All specially marked Tyson chicken products are raised with no antibiotics ever and no added hormones or steroids, something that makes me feel confident when serving these dishes to friends and family. By offering several dish variations alongside a fresh vegetable spread or salad, there will be something for everyone to enjoy while watching the game.
To create your own Yogurt Vegetable Dip, gather the following ingredients and simply mix together: 3 cups plain Greek yogurt, 1 tsp dried parsley, ½ tsp dried dill weed, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder. ¼ tsp fine salt, and ½ tsp black pepper. Add finely diced fresh chives right before serving as a fresh garnish.
Tyson crispy chicken strips were displayed on a platter along with dipping sauce selections in individual white spoons; barbeque, honey mustard, and ketchup. I loved these little spoons as an elegant way to offer a variety of dipping sauces, allowing guests to simply pick up the spoon(s) of their sauce choice. Crispy chicken strips are made with 100% all-natural white meat chicken, fully cooked and fully crispy. They are minimally processed with no artificial ingredients.
For a fresh addition to our appetizer spread, we added Tyson® Any’tizers boneless chicken WYNGZ* to a fresh bacon Caesar salad. To complement the Tyson® Any’tizers hot wings buffalo style, we offered an assortment of fresh vegetables with a cooling yogurt dip. Tyson® Any’tizers snacks are made with white meat chicken and are available in a variety of sauces. Tyson crispy chicken strips and Tyson® Any’tizers are available at your local Kroger or Kroger division stores.
Our “Game Day” beverages were served in this fun football dispenser alongside “equipment,” aka forks, and “Penalty Flags,” aka luncheon napkins. I love adding fun, cheeky labels to basic serving items at any function; they always bring a smile to the guests’ faces.
