When planning our son’s 3rd birthday party, choosing a theme was fairly challenging…..after all, Harrison is a super easy going child that only wants cake and friends at his celebration. So, I chose one of his favorite books as the design inspiration for his party, the Little Blue Truck. I hope you find lots of fun Little Blue Truck party ideas for your upcoming celebration!
Little Blue Truck Party Snack Ideas
So, for our Little Blue Truck Party, I paired several child friendly snacks with personalized labels with little puns. For a healthy snack option, we offered guests “Farm Fresh Produce”; individual cups full of grapes and veggie sticks and cups of chicken feed (aka popcorn) displayed in a dump truck and in white popcorn boxes.
The centerpiece of our snack buffet was the 2-tier custom buttercream Little Blue Truck cake sitting atop a hay bale. In front of the cake, were perfectly decorated Little Blue Truck sugar cookies by our friends from Whoo’s Bakery. And, I couldn’t resist including these super fun rooster cake ball pops sitting in a small egg carton. Not only are these cake balls adorable, they are delicious. Desserts were served on adorable cow print dessert plates.
In addition to water, we offered “Farm Fresh Lemonade” in blue paper cups decorated with 2″ round party circles from our Little Blue Truck party printable collection.

Little Blue Truck Photo Board
And finally, for some photo ops, guests stood behind the custom made photo prop made complete with the super fun animal balloons scattered across the floor. To replicate this look, trace an outline of the Little Blue Truck onto a thin piece of plywood or foam board. Then, paint the areas to resemble the book character. And finally, cut out the portion for the child’s face to be photographed. You can either create something with brackets to make it self-standing, or lean the board against a wall during the party.
For favors, each guest took home gingham gable boxes full of bath toys which are one of my favorite items for a 3 year old’s party; affordable and practical! As Little Blue Truck would say, “I hope you have an excellent birthday!”
