How does your family spend the 4th of July? With 4 small children, we will be celebrating at home this year; playing in the pool, roasting marshmallows and playing with a huge assortment of noise makers and poppers we picked up for the kids!
If you plan to celebrate the holiday weekend at home with your family, then these ideas for creating a family friendly, yet colorful and super fun picnic are for you!!
Using goodies from Oriental Trading, we dressed up our children’s picnic table in red, white & blue! We chose this simple blue chevron runner as a base for our party’s decorations, then set out red star plates and confetti paper napkins for each child for contrast.
Serving both as table decor, and party activities, we these perfectly sized galvanized pails filled with patriotic goodies; child-sized sunglasses, over-sized kazoos and American flag clappers.
As you can see, the kiddos had a ball playing dress up with patriotic goodies; star necklaces in red, white and blue, pom-pom headbands and festive hats.
And finally, to add to the weekend’s festivities, we set up this fun child-sized bean bag toss for the kids to play with!
