Down. Set. Party! Football Party Ideas

In Texas…..football is a BIG deal! Weekends are filled with games, tailgating, bar-b-ques and football watching by adults and kiddos.

We wanted to put together a fun “concessions” table that could be easily set up at any casual football get together or modified for a tailgating party.

The focal point of our “concessions” table is the yellow field goal backdrop we created using corrugated yellow paper, yellow balloons, a football shaped Texans mylar balloon and tape.

To create your own goal post backdrop, start by cutting out the shape of the goal post from yellow paper (we used corrugated paper in our set up). Tape your goal post to the wall using painters tape. Next, blow up the yellow balloons with air (not helium) and attach along the shape you created with tape at the base. And finally, add your team’s mylar balloon in the center of the goal post as if it were being kicked through for a field goal.

For contrast to our white table, we added this fun black & white striped table runner across the center.

For snacks, we kept things simple, going with a fun chip & dip display in a football server and a Texans Tailgate popcorn mix that was on the sweeter side. Click Here for the Texans Tailgate popcorn recipe! Snacks were of course served on Texans paper plates with bold red napkins, which added a fun pop of color to our table display.

I love findings ways to add a bit of humor into a display using labels. We added this fun Texans “Penalty Flags” label to the front of simple white pail holding yellow napkins, instantly dressing them up and hopefully adding a smile to anyone who reads it.

We also thought it was fun to add this green “Concessions” banner to the front of our table!!

We served draft beer from our football beverage dispenser in Texans plastic cups. For a child-friendly party, fill it to the brim with lemonade or a sparkling punch.
