Well….it’s official; we have a kindergartner in our house!!! Two of our other littles start pre-k after Labor Day, and our littlest one is just 2 months now.
For some families, there are tears at kindergarten drop off, but for ours, it was nothing but joyful to drop him off this morning. He was so, so excited to start this new school year and woke me up at the crack of dawn to get everything ready to go.
It is a tradition for so many families to capture first day of school photos, and in our house, it is no different. We definitely have to capture the at-home in front of our door photos holding signs, and then a few snaps as they enter their new classrooms.
Tips for Capturing First Day of School Photos
First day of school photos are such a treasure! They are especially fun to compare to the end of year photos. Here are some simple tips for capturing back to school photos:
- Prepare your back to school clothing options in advance. Simply set out clothing for each child in a designated space to make getting dressed that morning a breeze.
- Utilize printable back to school photo signs. Download our FREE printable first day of school sign below, print one per child, and you are set. Printables are such a great way to add personality to photos in an affordable fashion.
