Beware of Sharks! What little boy (or girl) isn’t fascinated with sharks!?! Shark Week is one of television’s most anticipated programming. If you have a shark lover in your family, bring their dreams to life with this lifelike shark attack theme, complete with fins, shark teeth and life sized standees. We are sharing these fun shark birthday party ideas and more, below!
Shark Birthday Party Decorations
We definitely used bright blue as a jumping off point in our design, selecting a bright blue polyester tablecloth as our dessert table’s base. This color paired perfectly with the waves standee used as a backdrop. To fill in negative space around our backdrop, we added 2, shark zone mylar balloons, one to each side.
For fun, we added this realistic shark standee to the base of our table, as if he were swimming along in the ocean. Guests loved it! They also loved the addition of shark pincher toys to our dessert table, displayed in a tall galvanized container. Adding an interactive component to your décor is a great way to encourage theme participation among party guests.
Guests snacked on “Shark Bait” aka goldfish crackers in fun, individual and personalized favor turned snack bags.
For a nautical nod, we draped this white fish netting over our base linen. The centerpiece of our dessert table was this white pedestal sitting atop a life preserver. We filled the pedestal with store bought cupcakes topped with wave blue icing and gummy sharks.
Snacks and dessert were served on shark paper plates alongside nautical theme silverware wraps; a simple DIY project using blue napkins, clear plastic forks, jute cord and white Life Saver candies.
Beverages were served in personalized shark paper cups alongside “Shark Repellent” water bottles personalized with coordinating sticker labels. You could also re-purpose ‘shark repellent’ labels by adding them to full size bubble containers for a fun party activity or take-home favor option. Personalizing an item transforms the ordinary into something truly unique and memorable, while remaining an affordable party décor option.
Shark Birthday Party Favors
Each guest took home fun plastic sharks in personalized favor bags reading, “Thanks for Making my Party Jaw-Some”. Adding fun, theme related sayings or text to party décor is a great way to bring a smile to your guest’s face. We hope you had a “Jaw-some” time looking through our shark birthday party ideas!!
