Host a charitable giving gathering this year with our organizing tips outlined below.
During the holiday season, I am always on the look out for ways to give back to my community. Charitable giving opportunities are even more special if I can involve my entire family, and/or friends in the service process. This year, I gathered a group of moms and their children to pack snack lunch bags for children in our immediate area in need of supplemental nutrition. Today, I am sharing 3 tips for organizing your own charitable gathering below, including special offers on some of the Pilot Pen supplies used throughout the post. Pilot’s pens and their array of designs, helped us make the most of this volunteer experience. Keep scrolling for our tips and the special savings offers on Pilot Pen varieties at Target.

Organize Donation Requests
For our charitable giving opportunity, our goal was to pack over 200 decorated brown paper lunch bags full of needed non-perishable food items. To make this goal a reality, I sent out specific food item requests from those individuals who RSVP’d to our service event. As people either dropped off or confirmed the items purchased, I kept a tally so that I could fill in any shortages prior to the day of the event. I would also suggest that you have a small reserve amount to fill any category shortages. Should there be an overage the day of the event, those non-perishable items can be added to the donation.
In addition to non-perishable food items, we also needed brown paper bags and supplies for the children to decorate them with. I set out a collection of colorful G2® Pens by Pilot Pen, which offer smooth gliding ink in 27 bright and vibrant colors. They were the perfect pens for the guests to decorate their paper bags with. It’s no wonder G2 is the #1 Selling pen brand in America (NPD, 2018).
We also set out an assortment of FriXion® Pens by Pilot Pen are not only colorful, but erasable, giving guests the infinite power of do-overs for their designs. Click HERE to save 10% off FriXion Pen products with the Target Circle app! Offer valid November 24, 2019 – December 7, 2019.
Next to the organized supplies, I also set out a few decorated bag examples as design inspiration. I was inspired by all of the Pilot Pen colors, and created several “party” inspired bag designs to hopefully bring a smile to the recipient’s faces upon delivery. SAVE 25% off Participating Pilot Pen products at Target starting Nov. 24, 2019-Dec. 21, 2019! Items included: G2 Fine Fashion Wrap 5ct Asst, Precise V5 Capped with new colors 10pk. You can find these pens in the office supply aisle or on an end cap.
We packed the completed bags into cardboard boxes, then delivered them to the charitable organization the next day. This experience was amazing for all involved, and offers immediate impact for members of your local community. I encourage you to look for charitable giving opportunities in your own community this holiday season!
